Luma matte ratio gets stretched after render

Hey everyone,

I have a bit of a problem while using a luma matte on a video. I’m using a custom video to transition between photos, the idea is that a circle grows showing the next image:

In this render however the circle is oval, while in the studio it shows correctly. It’s as if it somehow gets stretched during the render.

This is the asset:

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Hey @Ondev, it looks like the issue might be with the luma transition you’ve chosen. You were aiming for a circular transition but ended up with an oval shape instead, correct? I tested the luma matte you shared and also observed an oval transition in the output video.

However, when I switched to a different luma transition, I managed to achieve the circular effect you were looking for, with the circle smoothly expanding to reveal the next image.

Thanks for the quick reply, this is indeed the problem I was experiencing. Gonna give this a try! Thanks

The issue seems to be caused by the fact that I’m using a video in portrait orientation.

Alright. Are you seeing the circular transition effect now?
